Vernon Calvert Reis was born in 1896 at Hammersmith, London, the son of Arthur Montagu and Lillian (Samuel) Reis.  He married Catherine Mary Baker (formerly MacKenzie) 24 April 1952 at the Register Office, Hammersmith.  He died on 1 September 1969 at General Hospital, Southend-on-Sea, Essex.  He was residing at 131 Beedell Avenue, Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex at the time of his death.

NOTES: The registry office certificate shows that Vernon was aged 55 years - bachelor - Dental Technician. Catherine Mary Baker was aged 34 years. She was formerly the wife of Albert Henry Baker from whom she obtained a divorce.  Vernon's address was 138 Sinclair Road, West Kensington, London W14.  His father is recorded as Arthur Montagu Reis (deceased), Stockbroker. His wife gives her address as 12 Shepherd's Bush Green, London W12. Her father is recorded as Roderick MacKenzie (deceased), Crofter. The witnesses were Albert Waters and Cecil Reis.
