The Garrard Family briefly unites with the Man family in the marriage of Elizabeth Garrard to Henry Garnet Man on 27 October 1840 at St. Mark, Kennington, Lambeth, Surrey.  Since there was no issue it is only this marriage that brings the two families together.

Elizabeth was born on 24 October in 1808 in India, the daughter of Colonel William Garrard and Martha Francis. She died on 3 September 1890. 

There is a reference to Elizabeth in the 1881 census where she is entered as Elizabeth Man, widow, at 15, Alderbert Terrace in Lambeth, Surrey, living with her unmarried cousin Elizabeth Sophia Man.
