The DOYLEY Family Mr. David Watts of the Buckinghamshire Record Office reports that the D’Oyley or Doyley family was a well-known Norman family and had extensive land holdings in both Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Unsubstantiated records have
been found for this family starting with Generation O down to Generation H.
Starting with Generation G down to Generation E, a family tree has been found in
the Visitation of Buckinghamshire in 1634. Two generations of the family have
been recorded in the parish of Hambleden, Buckinghamshire for Generation E and
Generation D where Susanna Doyley marries
John Saunders. It is their
granddaughter, Jane Saunders, who married George Man. Those in bold are
direct ancestors of Susanna Doyley. More details on the Doyley family in

Generation H William D’Oyley was born about 1400 at Eweden Manor, Hambleden, Buckinghamshire, and died there in 1449. He was married to Eleanor ??. The children of William and Eleanor are of Generation G and are:

Generation G John D’Oyley was born in Eweden Manor, Hambleden, Buckinghamshire. He died in February 1492 in Hurley, Berkshire. He was married to Isabella Moore. The children of John and Isabella are of Generation F and are:

Generation F William D’Oyley was born in Hambleden, Buckinghamshire. He was married to Margery Abbington. The children of William and Margery are of Generation E and are:

1 July 1571 at St Mary the Virgin, Hambleden, Buckinghamshire, and buried on 30
