Morrice King Man was born on 30 May 1826 at 33 Apollo Buildings, Walworth, Surrey, the son of Harry Stoe and Louisa Caroline (Fowle) Man, and baptized on 28 June 1826 at St Peter's, Walworth, Surrey. He married Jane Smart Walch on 1 May 1861 at St. Thomas Cathedral, Bombay, India.  Morrice died, aged 38, on 15 July 1864 in Hobart Town, Tasmania, Australia.

Jane Smart Walch was born on 2 June 1836 in Ootacammond, Tamil Nadu, India, the second daughter of James William Henry and Eliza (Nash) Walch. Jane died, aged 93, on 13 June 1929 at 28 Pickwick Road, Dulwich.

Morrice and Jane belong to Generation Five; their children belong to Generation Six and are:

  1. ELIZA CAROLINE
  2. EMMA CATHERINE

After Morrice King Man died in Tasmania at the age of 38, his wife, Jane Smart (above), took their two infant girls, Eliza Caroline and Emma Catherine, to England to live with her Man in-laws at Halstead, Kent.  Later Jane Smart lived with Eliza Caroline in Dulwich and died there.

Jane has been found on the 1901 census aged 63 living as a boarder in a house that appears to be located at 38 Kestrel (?) Avenue, Lambeth. The entry for Jane on the 1901 census can be read HERE (<--- PDF).
