 Lionel Garnet Man was born on
11 July 1903, the eldest son of Edward James Fowle Garnet
and Beatrice (Crofts) Man. He married Audrey Johnson on 1
January 1929 at Compton, Surrey. He died on 23 January 1974 in Benenden,
Kent.
Audrey was born on 19 October 1902 in Godalming, Surrey and died on 26 April 1983 in Benenden, Kent. Lionel and Audrey belong to
Generation Seven.
Lionel Garnet Man was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Army. They had no Issue. Audrey was the daughter of the Art teacher of Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey. Osbert Lancaster, who went to Charterhouse, recalls Audrey's father fondly. He was known as 'Purple Johnson', as explained by Osbert Lancaster HERE (<--- four page pdf). Andrew Man was best man. at Lionel and Audrey's wedding.
