The Huntley family becomes connected to the Man family when, on 25 August 1874 at St. Andrew's, Litchurch, Derby, James Henry Man married Sarah Francis Huntley. Known as Fanny Man, she left a will which has been transcribed and can be read HERE and in PDF HERE.

Sarah Frances Man's death notice as it appeared in the parish magazine of St. James, Derby.

From the Argosy newspaper of British Guiana for 4 February 1882 has been found the following marriage announcement "Dawson / Huntley on 30th January 1882 at Essequebo, John McPherson Dawson married Louisa Emily Huntley ceremony performed by Rev W Austin - no cards".

The 1882 marriage took place at St Johns Church,  Essequebo and Rev W Austin was the Rural Dean.

Louisa Emily is Sarah Frances Man's sister. Sarah is pictured above. Sarah and Louisa were the daughters of George Maxwell Huntley who was a postmaster and who, for about ten years, was located at Derby.  It was also in this town that machinery for sugar refining was built by George Fletcher & Co. and for which company James Henry Man worked as an engineer. Thus the two families of Huntley and Man were united in Derby.  Sarah Frances (Huntley) Man died at 124 Rosehill Road, Derby (below).

From 1881 onwards George Maxwell Huntley was postmaster at Ashbourne where his daughter returned to from the States on the death of James Henry. Below is the post office at Ashbourne.
