NOTE: The first entry (Ann Man born in 1713) is predicated on the assumption that this Ann's parents, John Man and Ann Tyle, are the parents of the children born later at Hurst. There are no other baptismal or burial records in Great Marlow for any Mans after that date (1713), which leads one to believe that this John and Ann moved to Hurst.  What strengthens this assumption is the fact that after the death of their second child, i.e. the first daughter, Ann, to be born in Hurst, the next daughter born in Hurst is also given the 'Christian' name of Ann. (This was a common practice in those days, if the parents were trying to carry on the given name of a parent or grandparent.)  Thus, it is reasonable to conclude that after the death of their daughter Ann in Great Marlow, John Man and Ann Tyle would have wished to name another daughter Ann.  At this time no other information has been found about the siblings of John Man (The Younger). However, it should be noted that they were all mentioned in their father's will prepared in 1747.  Also note in the New Year poem written by John Man in 1797 he writes "''t'is Fan I'll drink who ne'r will shrink"  and we assume that John is referring to his Frances above, the last of the children and John's aunt.

It is concluded that the John Man born in Wargrave, Berkshire, and who married Ann Tyle in Great Marlow, Buckinghamshire, is our John Man the Elder who raised the family listed above in Hurst, Berkshire.
