Catherine Mary Marshall was born on 16 January 1889, the daughter of Emma Catherine Man and John Maitland Marshall. She married (1) Lewis Cairns James in 1911 and she then married (2) Edward Stewart (Ofa) James on 30 October 1946. She died on 6 February 1969 in Benson, Oxfordshire. Lewis Cairns James born 23 September 1866 in Edinburgh, Scotland, and died in Gloucester on 7 October 1946. Edward Stewart James (Lewis' nephew) was born on 29 November 1889 and died on 5 February 1977.
